Motion text
That this House congratulates all the players and management of Celtic Football Club on winning the 2018 Scottish Cup having beaten Motherwell FC by two goals to nil, thanks to goals from Callum McGregor and Olivier Ntcham thereby securing an unprecedented double-treble of back-to-back SPFL titles, Scottish League Cups and Scottish Cups; recognises in particular the role played in that success by manager Brendan Rodgers and club captain Scott Brown, in his testimonial year; and wishes Celtic Football Club the very best of luck in this year's UEFA Champions League tournament but notes with regret that despite being Scotland's champions and a former winner of Europe's premier football competition, Celtic Football Club will have to negotiate no fewer than four qualifying rounds before, as Scotland's champions, they can represent the nation in the group stages of UEFA Champions League once again.
