80 YEARS OF THE BEANO

That this House congratulates Dundee publisher DC Thomson on its exhibition to celebrate 80 years of its iconic comic magazine, The Beano; commends Beano Studios and The McManus: Dundee's Art Gallery and Museum's fantastic wheeze to join forces and rename Dundee's historic McManus Galleries in Dundee, the McMenace for the duration of the bespoke exhibition dedicated to its best loved characters; applauds the temporary takeover of the museum by the Bash Street Kids in commemoration of Britain's longest running comic and its key caper merchants; praises Dundee as the hometown of The Dandy and Beano; and hopes that the many Beano fans in the UK and beyond will visit the exhibition for a glimpse into the history of the comics, and how they still connect with children today.
