That this House notes that 3 September 2018 was Merchant Navy Day to honour the brave men and women who kept our island nation afloat during both World Wars and to mark our dependence on modern day merchant seafarers who are responsible for 95 per cent of the UK's imports; and joins with people across the UK to remember and thank all of those who have served their nation in this way.
