PROVISION OF INFORMATION TO MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT BY SOCIAL HOUSING ORGANISATIONS

That this House expresses its concern at the actions of Orbit Housing and other organisations in withholding information from hon. Members in relation to casework they are pursuing on behalf of constituents; supports the rights of constituents to ask their hon. Member for their assistance with casework and to give permission for their hon. Member to act on their behalf; upholds the rights and ability of hon. Members to investigate matters when acting on behalf of their constituents by discussing the detail of cases with related stakeholders; and reaffirms that hon. Members should not be restricted in their ability to pursue such casework through the withholding of information as a result of data protection policies, when they have the explicit permission of constituents to act on their behalf.
