ROMANIAN CENTENNIAL

That this House congratulates Romania on its forthcoming centennial; conveys to the Romanian Government and people every good wish for its National Day on 1 December; recognises and appreciates the vital contribution Romanians make to life throughout the UK including the NHS, the City of London, hospitality and tourism, education and academia, construction technology and culture and the arts; notes the important work of British-linked charities and NGOs supporting Romania's transition from communist dictatorship toward membership of NATO and the EU; and expresses the hope Romania will continue to be a valuable friend and key partner in political, economic and security affairs.
