That this House congratulates Alan Bell, the founder and Executive Manager of the Scottish Centre for Personal Safety (SCPS), based in Ardrossan in North Ayrshire, on winning the Lifetime Achievement Award at the recent Inclusive Companies Award ceremony in Manchester; notes that these Awards cover excellence in all areas of diversity including age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race and religion; recognises Mr Bell's achievements through devoting his life to equality and diversity; commends the fantastic work done by Mr Bell and the charity and its volunteer instructors to provide personal safety training and first aid courses for a wide range of groups affected by hate crimes including female rape and domestic abuse survivors, the blind and visually impaired, LGBTI and ethnic minority groups; further recognises the impact these courses have on increasing self-confidence and lowering anxiety levels in participants, helping them lead richer, full lives; appreciates the extraordinary contribution Mr Bell has made, training over 5,000 people; and applauds his dedication of this award to all the survivors of hate crime he has helped over the years.
