This House recognises the outstanding work of Veterans First Point Lanarkshire (V1P) in providing a specialist service to veterans; notes that V1P officially launched in September 2016 and since has since supported over 400 veterans; further notes V1P seeks to support veterans in all aspects of their lives including welfare, housing, mental and physical well being; recognises the key strength of V1P in employing veterans as peer workers with the combination of highly skilled mental health professionals delivering a range of evidence-based psychological therapy; further recognises that 40 per cent of the total number of veterans registered with V1P are put forward for psychological therapy to address mental health difficulties and that peer workers and clinical staff work collaboratively and in partnership with local veterans agencies and organisations to ensure veterans receive coordinated support, appropriate to their needs at the time; and congratulates all those involved on their achievements.
