Motion text
That this House recognises the work of Edinburgh Project Search, which offers employment and learning opportunities for young people with a recognised disability; understands that it works in partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council, NHS Lothian, Edinburgh College and the Into Work Project; notes that applicants complete three different work experience internships and gain a qualification from the course, with over 800 hours of practical work, alongside their tutor and job coach; further notes that there are 50 Project Search sites across the UK and that the programme was introduced in Edinburgh in 2014; further recognises the wide range of skills that people can learn while being a part of the programme and the confidence that it gives them to fulfil their career potential; hopes that the programme will continue to grow and develop so that more young people with a disability can access it and know that they have a platform of support into work; acknowledges that we must continue to raise awareness of Project Search to as wide an audience as possible; and congratulates those who are involved with running this project on the hard work that they have done to make Edinburgh Project Search such a positive contribution to the lives of many young people.
