Motion text
That this House notes that the West Highlands yard in Kishorn has secured its first major oil and gas industry contract in more than 40 years; further notes Kishorn port is preparing for the arrival of the world's biggest semi-submersible offshore drilling rig, the Ocean GreatWhite, for service work; recognises that the Ocean GreatWhite weighs more than 600,000 tonnes and that the platform was one of the world's largest floating concrete structures; congratulates Alasdair Ferguson, a director of Kishorn Port Ltd, and others, for the years of hard work that has awoken this sleeping giant on the West Coast; and acknowledges the potential for economic development that the rejuvenation of Kishorn port brings to not only the West Coast of Scotland but also to those in communities further afield.
