That this House congratulates all at Blacklands Primary School for receiving a Gold School Sport Award from sportscotland for their efforts to continuously improve physical education and sporting opportunities for their pupils; understands that the award encourages schools to put young people at the forefront of the decision making and planning process of Physical Education (PE) and sport in their school; recognises that the school provides a number of different opportunities for pupils take part in physical activity, with clubs running before, during and after school, as well as pupil participation in the Daily Mile challenge and hours of weekly PE classes; notes the collaborative effort from pupils, staff, and volunteers, as well as support from the Active Schools Coordinator and the Sports Council, in ensuring that sport plays a key role in the school programme; recognises the essential role that sport and an active lifestyle play in contributing to the physical and mental health and wellbeing of pupils; and wishes the school every success for the future.
