That this House congratulates the Elpis Centre based in North Glasgow on its 45th anniversary; recognises the valuable accommodation service that it provides to homeless and vulnerable young women aged 16-25 years in the Ruchill area of the city; understands that the charity provides space for nine women in the main building with provision for a further nine women to reside in flats in the surrounding area; appreciates the aims of the organisation to promote positive decision making, independent living, health and well-being as well as providing responsive care and support in a safe and secure environment; notes the work being done to support service users in achieving their goals and developing new skills through education and training; further recognises the expertise of the 24 professionally trained and qualified support staff who provide service users with the tools that they need to lead independent futures in the community; and wishes the charity all the best for the future.
