That this House commends the new BBC Scotland channel for its successful broadcast debut; notes the variety of programmes this service will include and the important economic and creative contribution that the new programmes commissioned for this channel will bring to Scotland’s production sector; congratulates the channel on being the third-most watched channel in Scotland on its launch night reaching more 16 to 34-year-olds in Scotland than any other channel; recognises the significant contribution that this new service will make to Scotland’s media landscape; and offers its continued support and best wishes to all those at the BBC and companies in Scotland’s independent production sector for the continued success of the new service.
