That this House congratulates Bridgeton Burns Club on its tireless dedication to the preservation and promotion of Scottish culture and poetry in the East End of Glasgow; notes its annual schools competition, which has been running for 146 years, and its schools concert and prizegiving, which was held this year on the 22 February; understands that from more than 1,100 entrants, 20 trophies were presented at the awards night, along with silver medals and £3,000 of gift vouchers and cheques for participating schools; appreciates the efforts of 150 volunteers who support the schools competition, many of whom are former competitors; and wishes Bridgeton Burns Club great success for many more years to come.
