That this House warmly congratulates Scottish Ballet on their 50 year anniversary; appreciates the vision of Scottish Ballet’s founder, Peter Darrell, in bringing his company to Glasgow in 1969; recognises the important cultural contribution that Scottish Ballet has made to Scotland; anticipates a wonderful programme of events to celebrate this milestone, including Five in Five, an extraordinary pledge to produce five new full-length ballets over five years, including The Crucible and The Snow Queen; welcomes the Five Wishes initiative, a commitment to grant wishes to five people in Scotland over the course of 2019; further notes ambitious attempts to archive footage, photographs, designs and press clippings in order to provide a record of Scottish Ballet's cultural heritage; and wishes all at Scottish Ballet great success for the next fifty years and beyond.
