Motion text
That this House recalls the tragic murder within the precincts of the House some 40 years ago of the late Airey Neave, Member of Parliament for Abingdon and Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland; pays tribute to this exceptional parliamentarian who served his country with courage and distinction and who was passionate about ending terrorism and restoring political stability in Northern Ireland; notes that recent media reports that a suspected member of the INLA wanted by the UK authorities in connection with this murder is now living in Spain; and calls on the Home Secretary immediately to initiate extradition proceedings to bring this suspect before the UK courts.
