Motion text

That this House welcomes the news that a litter of nine dogs will be trained as guide dogs thanks to People’s Postcode Lottery funding; notes that it costs around £55,000 to train a puppy to become a guide dog; further notes that there are currently around 170,000 people in Scotland who are experiencing sight loss; understands that this number is expected to increase to 200,000 by 2025 which will lead to more demand for guide dogs; hopes that the number of newly trained guide dogs will continue to rise; and pays tribute to everyone who is involved at Guide Dogs Training School in Forfar and the excellent work that they undertake.
