ST ANDREWS BEACH WHEELCHAIRS

That this House recognises the huge effort and commitment shown by The Hamish Foundation and Tourism St Andrews to develop and run St Andrews Beach Wheelchairs at West Sands, St Andrews; notes the tremendous support from Fife Council, local businesses, organisations and charitable foundations with the launch as well as ongoing assistance with the initiative; commends the enthusiasm and drive by the chair of Tourism St Andrews and Hamish Foundation founder Debbie MacCallum in particular to making St Andrews accessible to all; and notes the significant improvements made to accessibility through the provision of three types of beach wheelchair to suit all needs, the creation of Scotland's accessible beaches app allowing visitors to find out more about St Andrews as well as other accessible beaches at North Berwick, Portobello and Seton Sands, and ongoing work to provide Changing Places toilet facilities across the town in conjunction with PAMIS and other partners.
