25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CHINESE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP

That this House recognises that 2019 marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese Community Development Partnership (CCDP) in Glasgow North; notes that the CCDP was set up in 1994 with the aim of supporting and developing Chinese community organisations and acting as a bridge between the Chinese community and the local government; welcomes their ambition to advance the education of the public in all aspects of Chinese culture and language, to preserve the well-being of the Chinese community and to promote racial harmony in the city of Glasgow; understands that they act as an umbrella for 14 Chinese community organisations, providing services for around 800 individual members, and ensuring that Chinese people within the community have somewhere to turn to for help; commends the organisation for creating a successful and effective link between the public service providers and the Chinese community in Glasgow; appreciates their self-sustainability developed through the project work it has undertaken in recent years such as the Chinese Climate Action project; and wishes the Chinese Community Development Partnership and all the staff and volunteers every success for the future.
