That this House congratulates Sir George Hamilton QPM on his recognition in the Birthday Honours List; notes that he will retire as Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) at the end of this month; expresses its gratitude to him for over three decades of policing and public service in the Royal Ulster Constabulary GC, Strathclyde Police and the PSNI; recognises his strong personal and professional commitments to equality, cooperation and reconciliation in Northern Ireland and on the island of Ireland; and wishes him and his wife Ruth, Lady Hamilton, and their family well for the future.
