CHILDREN'S HOSPICE WEEK 2019

Tabled in the 2017-19 session.

Motion text

That this House notes Children's Hospice Week 2019 from 17 to 23 June; recognises that children's hospice services across the UK support thousands of seriously ill babies, children and young people; is worried by Together for Short Lives's recent finding that NHS and local council cuts to children's hospice funding in England are hitting lifeline care for seriously ill children as the cost of providing care increases; expresses its concern that NHS England chief executive Simon Stevens's commitment of 27 December to increase children's hospice funding and the children's hospice grant is not being met; and calls on the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care to make sure that NHS England helps to secure the future of children's hospices by keeping its promise to protect the children's hospice grant and to go further by increasing the grant to £25 million a year.
