Motion text
That this House commends the efforts of Paul Flecher-Herd, a stem cell donor, on his work on the #LeaveForLives campaign to raise awareness of employment practices surrounding stem cell donation; understands Mr Flecher-Herd is campaigning in the memory of his friend, Cammy Smith, who lost his life to leukaemia in 2014; acknowledges there are barriers to stem cell donation for employees; understands that potential donors may be more inclined to donate if they didn't have to take annual leave; encourages employers to allow employees the necessary time off to undertake this life-saving procedure; recommends that the UK Government place a statutory obligation on employers to allow employees to donate stem cells without having to take annual leave; and encourages people to sign the Parliamentary Petition on this important issue.
