That this House marks the 15th anniversary of the death of Fusilier Gordon Gentle on the 28 June 2019, who was killed in the line of duty in Iraq in 2004 at just 19 years of age while serving with the Royal Highland Fusiliers when a bomb planted at the side of the road in Basra detonated as his land rover passed; notes the poignant memorial service held at Crookston Castle Primary hosted by forces charity Ancre Somme Association Scotland to celebrate Gordon’s life with his mum Rose Gentle and former friends from the services and school; and welcomes the Lest We Forget bench which was unveiled at the memorial service serving as a legacy for this young man and keeping his memory alive at the school so every generation will never forget this brave young solider
