Motion text

That this House welcomes the campaign by HIV Scotland to have the word untransmittable added to the Oxford English Dictionary; recognises that the word has been used globally as part of the U=U campaign reflecting the scientific evidence that someone living with HIV who is on treatment and has an undetectable viral load cannot pass the virus on to their sexual partners; urges the Oxford English Dictionary to add the word to their next update to recognise this important scientific advance in the fight against HIV-stigma; and invites all hon. Members to spread the word that undetectable equals untransmittable.
