DEMOLITIONS IN EAST JERUSALEM

EDM (Early Day Motion) 2640: tabled on 23 July 2019

Tabled in the 2017-19 session.

This motion has been signed by 60 Members. It has not yet had any amendments submitted.

Motion text

That this House condemns the demolition of Palestinian buildings in the Sur Baher neighbourhood in East Jerusalem; notes that this is an area under the control of the Palestinian Authority under the Oslo Accords; further notes that these demolitions have been condemned by the EU, UN and both Israeli and Palestinian human rights organisations; believes that such demolitions set back the prospects for peace and a two-state solution; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to condemn these demolitions and make representations to the Government of Israel to cease these demolitions immediately.
