Motion text
That this House congratulates East End Community Radio on its successful launch; praises the work of owners John Toby Flannigan and Stuart James and all of the station's volunteers for their work in bringing the station into existence; commends this new voluntary community radio station on giving the East end of Glasgow a voice through regular broadcasts from the Helenslea Community Hub in Braidfauld; applauds the station on its inspirational aims of growing community access and participation and providing training and support to children and people of all ages to produce their own radio programmes; notes that the creation of the station was made possible following a successful application of just under £10,000 from Glasgow City Council's Participatory Budget for Calton Ward 9, which was strongly supported by the local community; further commends the station's partnership with Glasgow Kelvin College, which is helping to deliver training; and wishes East End Community Radio every success in the future.
