Motion text
That this House congratulates Pittencrieff Park in Dunfermline on being named the Best Park in Scotland in the Fields in Trust UK's Best Park 2019 awards; understands the Pittencrieff Park, known locally as the Glen, was nominated for its well managed facilities, peacock sanctuary and historical features with accessibility and educational inclusions, the Glen being home to Scotland's first all inclusive playpark; notes that Pittencrieff Park beat off competition from 41 other Scottish parks to be crowned best in Scotland by the voting public, reflecting how much it is loved and used by local people, community groups and visitors; pays credit to Fife Council parks staff and Friends of Pittencrieff Park volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain the beautiful and tranquil surroundings of the park for all to enjoy; and praises the Fields in Trust charity on running their most successful Best Park competition yet which recognises the value of green open spaces in our communities.
