Motion text
That this House notes the Department of Health and Social Care's guidance which states that NHS organisations should work with their patients and staff, local authorities and public transport providers to make sure that users can get to the site (and park if necessary) as safely, conveniently and economically as possible; further notes that this Government guidance is being ignored by private parking companies and that hospital users are bearing the financial burden of this ignorance; recognises that hospital car parking charges across the country are economically crippling patients, visitors and NHS hospital staff; and calls on the Government to introduce compulsory legislation to abolish hospital car parking charges across the UK.
