Motion text
That this House highlights the fact that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month; notes that every ten minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK; encourages men and women alike to be aware of the early signs of breast cancer, such as a lump in a breast, a painful breast or armpit or a discharge from the nipple; further notes that more than 90 per cent of women diagnosed with breast cancer at the earliest stage survive their disease for at least five years compared to around 15 per cent for women diagnosed with the most advanced stage of disease; and extends thanks to members of the overstretched NHS and wonderful charities who will be working so hard this month to highlight awareness of this non-discriminatory cancer.
