Motion text
That this House recognises the value and importance of summer programmes across the UK, both to teach young people valuable skills and to reduce incidents of anti-social behaviour within communities; praises the work of programmes that facilitate these activities such as StreetGames; recognises that reports show a significant reduction in anti-social behaviour in areas where these programmes are run including a 41 per cent decrease in Staffordshire in 2019; and calls on the Secretary of State for Education and the Minister for Children to support efforts by local authorities and the third party sector to create more programmes to engage and inspire young people to develop skills and enjoy their school breaks within their local communities.
