Motion text
That this House welcomes the launch of the Physiological Society’s report, Growing Older, Better, into the role that a better understanding of physiology could play in meeting the Government’s healthy ageing grand challenge mission of citizens enjoying five more years of healthy, independent living by 2035 while narrowing the gap between the experience of the richest and the poorest; notes the report’s recommendations on promoting current physiological insight, funding for further research on the common mechanisms underpinning ageing and pathophysiology, promoting physiological insight in interdisciplinary working and establishing public health messaging on healthy ageing; and congratulates all those involved in the report for their work in proactively engaging with that large and growing health and social care challenge.
