That this House celebrates the accomplishments of the Royal National Mod 2019; congratulates An Comunn Gaidhealachd, its President Allan Campbell and Chief Executive John Morrison, on the success of the 2019 Mod Ghlaschu; further recognises BBC Alba's coverage of the event and promotion of the Gaidhlig language; calls on the UK Government to nominate traditional Scottish Gaidhlig singing to UNESCO for inclusion in the urgent need of safeguarding list; recognises Glasgow as a UNESCO City of Music that is home to more Gaelic speakers than any other part of Scotland outside the Highlands and Islands; congratulates the Glasgow Local Organising Committee and its Chair, Domhnall lain Brown, for their leadership and ambition, and the range of fringe events and media outreach that have ensured Gaidhlig is reaching a wide audience, including many non-speakers; recognises that Gaidhlig is being taught in 28 primary schools in Glasgow, including three Gaelic Medium primaries; thanks An Comunn Gaidhealachd staff and volunteers for their great efforts in running the event; and wishes the Mod success in next year's event in Inverness.
