That this House celebrates the success of Yr Ysgwrn in Trawsfynydd for winning a prestigious European Heritage Europa Nostra Award in the Conservation category; recognises the significance of Yr Ysgwrn as home of Ellis Humphrey Evans, known by his bardic name Hedd Wyn, the war poet who was tragically killed in the Battle of Passchendaele in 1917 and posthumously awarded the bard’s chair at the 1917 National Eisteddfod; commends the work done by the Snowdonia National Park Authority and the Welsh Government in safeguarding this hugely important part of Welsh history for future generations; and notes that a ceremony will be taking place on Monday 11 November to celebrate Yr Ysgwrn’s outstanding contribution to Welsh and European cultural heritage.
