Motion text
That this House is concerned that tool theft is ruining the livelihoods of honest and hard-working UK tradespeople and that it is a growing problem with one in three affected at an average cost of £3000; notes that in West Yorkshire alone £836,053 worth of tools were stolen in the last 12 months between April 2018 and March 2019; and calls on the next Government to introduce tighter regulation of the reselling of tools and a review of sentencing policy for people convicted of tool theft.
