That this House congratulates fair trade champion Carol Clarke on receiving the Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2019 Scottish Fair Trade Awards; notes that she achieved the recognition for her consistent outstanding commitment to fair trade in both a personal and professional capacity; understands that Carol has been campaigning for fair trade and trade justice for more than 20 years as part of the Hamilton Fair Trade Group, the Scottish Fair Trade Forum and Justice and Peace Scotland; recognises Carol’s tireless community activism, especially for nuclear disarmament and opposition to immigration detention; further notes that Scotland became one of the world’s first Fair Trade Nations in 2013 and believes that Carol’s efforts played a crucial role in that; and thanks Carol for her commitment and dedication to fair trade and wishes her every success in the future.
