Motion text

That this House welcomes the initiative by the Irish section of Amnesty International in highlighting human rights abuses in the former Yugoslavia; wishes the 80-strong group well in their 10 days' journey through Western Europe to the borders of the former Yugoslavia where they will cast wreaths of flowers into the river Drava which flows on to Osijek, Vukovar and Belgrade, cities which have witnessed some of the worst atrocities; and calls on the international community to respond to this visit by taking action to stop the killing, rape and torture of men, women and children and to take steps to bring those responsible to justice.
