That this House recognises the outstanding sporting and educational contribution of Coatbridge, Chryston and Bellshill constituency's, Michael Kerr; notes that, after suffering catastrophic spinal injuries at the age of 17 due to a swimming pool incident while on holiday, Mr Kerr was confined to a wheelchair and despite that accident, Mr Kerr has maintained an exemplary determination and courage to continue to drive forward and establish a myriad of lifetime achievements; further notes that Mr Kerr represented Team GB at the London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016 Paralympic Games; congratulates Mr Kerr on being recognised by the renowned Glasgow Caledonian University Senate, offering him an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science, highlighting his Olympic sporting legacy and contribution to higher education in advancing and profiling the development of sport for athletes with a disability; and calls on the Government to congratulate Mr Kerr for that fantastic recognition and to thank him for his contribution to his and future generations to come.
