Motion text
That this House notes with deep regret the passing of Ross Scott, a caring, passionate young man from Kirkcaldy who developed AIDS having unknowingly lived with HIV virus for two years, and succumbed to his illness on 14th January aged just 25; commends his bravery in using his own diagnosis in 2017 to raise awareness of HIV and the need for people to know if they have been affected; commends HIV Scotland's commitment to increase its campaign around HIV testing in Ross's memory, to reach more people with the key information, and challenge stigma to work towards reducing the number of late diagnosis in Scotland; and sends deepest condolences to all who knew and loved him.
