That this House congratulates the pupils and staff of Kirkcaldy High School on becoming the first school in Fife to achieve the UNICEF Gold Rights Respecting Schools Award; commends the school on creating an ethos that places rights and respect at its core; notes that, in the context of the Black Lives Matter campaign, the progressive learning pathways planned for in Curriculum for Excellence around inclusion and race, including to acknowledge diversity and understand that it is everyone’s responsibility to challenge discrimination; and encourages other Fife schools to equally demonstrate Kirkcaldy High School’s commitment to embedding children’s rights and an understanding of the importance of respecting rights every day.
