Motion text
That this House welcomes the lockdown extension in Leicester and parts of the county of Leicestershire to protect lives from coronavirus; stands in solidarity with the people of Leicester whose lives face further disruption while lockdown is relaxed in the rest of the country; understands the additional effect that that lockdown will have on businesses; recognises that Leicester is one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse areas of the country; rejects any attempt to blame Leicester residents for the increase in the rate of infection; and calls for unity within Leicester, across the county and throughout the country to defeat covid-19.
