Motion text
That this House condemns President Duda of Poland for his recent re-election campaign; notes that his campaign was run on the basis of discriminatory anti-semitic and homophobic tropes; further notes that this has led to a rise in attacks on the LGBTQ+ community, with several municipalities in Poland declaring themselves LGBTQ+ free zones; points out that President Duda has claimed he plans to ban any mention of LGBTQ+ people in schools; further points out that similarly he plans to undermine the rights of same-sex couples by banning same-sex couples from adopting and same-sex marriage; notes that LGBTQ+ activists have been arrested in Poland simply for defending their rights; and calls for international solidarity with LGBT and Jewish Polish citizens around the world in their struggle for freedom from oppression.
