Motion text

That this House acknowledges the ongoing sewage pollution in the River Thames; expresses concern over the health of people who swim in rivers containing sewage pollution; recognises that the River Thames is the only body of water available to many swimmers at a time when swimming pools have been forced to shut; urges the Government to grant the River Thames Bathing Water status in Oxfordshire; calls on the Government to act against sewage companies dumping sewage into rivers across the UK; and further calls on sewage and water companies to stop dumping waste into the River Thames and other affected rivers prior to Government intervention.
