Motion text
That this House welcomes the document on judicial security signed by Iran’s judiciary chief Ebrahim Raisi; notes the pledges contained within it to ban torture, the use of forced confessions, solitary confinement, illegal police detentions, and other violations of defendants’ rights; further welcomes the guaranteed consular access for foreign nationals as an indication of progression for human rights in Iran; and urges the Iranian Government and security forces to implement those changes as a matter urgency.
