Motion text

That this House praises the extraordinary efforts of Linton Lane Community Centre for its support of the Kirkcaldy community since 1926; recognises the outstanding achievement of Chair, Lorraine Wilkinson for preparing 4,000 meals for vulnerable people during the covid-19 pandemic; also recognises the passion and 25-year stewardship of Mandy Henderson, Centre Manager, and thanks all board members and volunteers who help countless people and families through times of crisis; acknowledges the friendship and individual support offered to whomever walks through the Linton Lane Centre’s doors; celebrates the range of support groups, the mental health drop-in clinic, foodbank access and recreational classes that are vital to those in the community living with the effects of a stroke, head and brain trauma, alcohol and drug addiction; further acknowledges the delivery of over 100 Christmas hampers to senior citizens and individuals who were unable to attend the Centre due to lockdown restrictions last year; and notes with concern the necessity for the Linton Lane Centre to continually have to seek financial support, yet gives thanks to funders past and present who ensure these local champions continue to deliver outstanding support to their community.
