Motion text

That this House recognises Baby Loss Awareness Week; highlights that it is an opportunity to remember the babies who are no longer with us, to support bereaved parents and families, to raise awareness about pregnancy and baby loss and to drive improvements in support for those affected and in the prevention of pregnancy and baby loss; recognises Held In Our Hearts who provide vital support for those suffering and in pain following baby loss by using a trauma-informed approach; further recognises Held in Our Hearts as part of the Baby Loss Awareness Week Alliance; recognises the work of the other baby loss charities within the Alliance who are committed to working with health professionals and services to improve bereavement care and reduce preventable deaths; encourages people to remember long ago bereaved as well as recently bereaved; and calls on the Government to enhance counselling services and other help available to families devastated by the loss of their baby, many of whom have been impacted recently by covid-19, through one of the most difficult times in their lives.
