Motion text
That this House congratulates John-Paul Mackie on winning the title of Pharmacist of the Year 2021 at the Independent Pharmacy Awards at a lunch reception in the House of Commons; notes that this award at the Independent Pharmacy Awards, run in association with Independent Community Pharmacy magazine, shines a light on the brilliant work of John-Paul Mackie as a community pharmacist; recognises Glasgow-based pharmacist John-Paul Mackie was voted Independent Pharmacist of the Year for his revolutionary way he has used technology and automation at Mackie Pharmacy in Cardonald to improve staff productivity and customer service; further notes that the relocation of Mackie Pharmacy to a location 100 yards along the road from its site in 2019 was integral to winning this award, as it accommodated a dispensing robot, which was integrated with a collection point to allow patients to collect their medication 24 hours a day, seven days a week, allowing staff more time to deliver NHS and private services; and wishes Mr Mackie and all staff associated with Mackie Pharmacy continued success going forward.
