Motion text
That this House notes leaked documents published by the European Public Service Unions reportedly showing that the Government, via the British Embassy Kyiv and UKaid, is funding communications consultants Abt Associated to assist efforts to negatively reform the employment laws in Ukraine; further notes that the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office is also funding a labour regulation project in Ukraine to support such changes; and expresses concern that the changes set out in draft Ukrainian laws 5388 and 537 will remove 80 per cent of Ukrainian employees from existing protections and undermine trade union rights, and stand condemned as an infringement of international labour standards by Ukrainian trade unions and undermines efforts of the International Labour Organisation in Ukraine.
