Motion text
That this House expresses deep concern that despite the November 2020 ceasefire between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the Nagorno-Karabakh region there are continuing incidences of sporadic violence on an ongoing basis; expresses concern for the Armenian prisoners of war and civilians still unlawfully held by Azerbaijani forces; expresses further concern regarding the scale and prevalence of hate speech and ethnic profiling in that region; states the need to ensure access for humanitarian aid and human rights investigators; calls for the release of unlawfully held prisoners and a cessation of hate speech; and echoes the United Nations and the EU calls for both sides to respect the ceasefire and secure a lasting peace.
