That this House congratulates Newtongrange Development Trust on its award of £9,800 from the National Lottery Awards for All Scotland; notes that the Trust will use this funding to develop an action plan for their organisation and run events; applauds the Trust’s aim of to building on the strong community spirit in Newtongrange to develop inclusive, dynamic and sustainable initiatives to enhance social, economic, environmental and cultural benefits for its growing community; recognises the sterling work done by the National Lottery Community Fund to distribute funding on behalf of National Lottery players who raise more than £30 million each week for good causes throughout the UK; welcomes the awarding of £588.2 million of funding last year alone; and encourages projects and organisations to apply for grants whether large or small.
