Motion text
That this House acknowledges the invaluable work of volunteers across North Ayrshire and Arran constituency, Scotland and the UK as it marks Volunteers’ Week 2022; notes that this is the 38th year of Volunteers’ Week when thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognise the contribution volunteers make across the UK and thank them for all they do; appreciates that the contribution of volunteers is often unseen and unrecognised by many, visible only through the incredible impact of their volunteering; believes volunteers improve society through their countless contributions each year and at time of crisis, making services more resilient; recognises that volunteering takes place formally, through the incredible work of organisations and groups but also informally through acts of kindness between individuals, and that the wide spectrum of volunteering must be acknowledged; and offers heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all volunteers for their tireless work in communities every day of the year.
