That this House congratulates the Welsh National Football team on qualifying for the World Cup for the first time since 1958; celebrates the meteoric rise of Welsh football over the last 11 years which has seen the men’s side climb from 117th to 18th in the Fifa world rankings; further celebrates the FAW’s inclusive outlook which includes strong support for and use of the Welsh language; recognises the importance of maintaining free-to-air Welsh language coverage of Welsh international football matches for the health of both the language and the game; gives special acknowledgement to the fantastic Red Wall supporters who have played a major role in the team’s success; and looks forward to Wales playing in a World Cup for the first time in 64 years.
